Review: Blind Faith by Rebecca Zanetti

Blind Faith is the third book in the Sin Brother’s series by Rebecca Zanetti and is the perfect example of why I have a love/hate relationship with book series. The first three books have me completely immersed in the world and the brothers but now I have to wait until March 2015 to get the conclusion and read Jory’s story!

Nate Dean has spent his entire life trying to be the buffer between his younger brothers Shane and Jory, and their older brother Matt. Matt’s job was to train and prepare them and Nate took on the role of trying to provide them with as normal a childhood as possible in the circumstances. Some of the most touching moments in all of these books come from the glimpses we get of the boys as kids.

Audrey Madison is the one person aside from his brother’s that Nate has loved. She also happens to be the daughter of Dr. Madison, the brilliant, yet twisted scientist that helped the Commander with his creations. Five years earlier she ended things with Nate in order to protect him and in Matt’s book it was revealed that Audrey had been pregnant with Nate’s baby when they split. Determined to find out the truth about the kill chips that are planted in the brothers’ spines, and find out what happened to his baby, Nate sets out to make Audrey talk.

After getting seriously injured in the explosion the Dean brothers’ set off at the compound they all lived at, Audrey has spent the last five years rehabilitating her leg while doing double duty as a Senator’s aide, and getting information for the Commander. Nate cannot believe that she would willingly help those monsters but it becomes clear that Audrey has her own agenda with the Commander. Despite his doubts about her loyalty, Nate and Audrey are unable to stay away from each other and their story is both sweet and hot! Right now Nate is my favorite of the brothers but I suspect that Jory is going to steal that title in his book.

As with the first two stories, there is plenty of action going on both surrounding the Commander and the organization the brothers want to take down, and there is also another threat to Audrey’s safety. There is a plot twist that I didn’t see coming which added so many layers to the series. I’m kind of sad that there is only one brother left. Hopefully this series will turn in to a spinoff maybe about other brothers that escape the Commander? A girl can hope!

If I had any complaints it would be that Audrey’s naiveté about her mother seemed a bit too extreme considering all the things that her mother had done to her and Nate. But all kids want to love their parents so it was easy to overlook that. After the glimpse we get at Jory’s book I cannot wait to read it. I suspect its going to be a very emotional, satisfying conclusion to the series.
