Review: Two Days of Temptation by Evie North

If you are in the mood for a short sexy historical with a disabled hero, look no further.  This is a quick read that’s just about a hundred pages. The hero is blind and his heroine heartbroken, but it’s a second chance at love story complete with healthy doses of angst and sexual tension.

As the story begins, Hannah is on a mission to make Sebastian pay for all the pain he has caused her. Two years ago, she believed they would be married. But he abandoned her and ruined her life.  Granted, he’s had problems of his own. He was somehow blinded and now lives in seclusion in the country. His only companionship outside of his servants are the occasional whores brought in to service him. Hannah sees that as her way in.

Sebastian doesn’t recognize Hannah but something about her calls to him. And despite her every intention of making him suffer, Hannah can’t fight her attraction to him either. The results are hot and bittersweet. I don’t want to give away too much because it’s a short novella, but I enjoyed watching it all play out. There are times I wished it were more developed, but that’s often how I feel with novellas.

I liked Sebastian and believed that he wanted to do right by Hannah. Obviously, they could have both done things differently, but I chose to let that go and kind of wallow in the angst.  Overall, it was pretty good and it left me satisfied.
