Caught Up in You is the fifth book in the Loving on the Edge series by Roni Loren. I’ve been trying to go back and read some of the books on my TBR list and this one has been there for quite a while, so I thought I would give it a shot. With the whole post-50 Shades trend of billionaires and BDSM, I found myself completely jaded by a lot of these stories which is why it sat for so long. Overall the book was good. Nothing earth shattering or new, but still enjoyable to read.
Kelsey LeBreck has been through a lot. Her life finally seems to be on track with culinary school and making money at The Ranch, while she secretly lusts after Wyatt. Bad experiences in relationships have her convinced she is not relationship material, and even more convinced that they will derail her life. When her past comes creeping back, though, the one person she wants to avoid is the one she turns to.
Wyatt Austin is your typical workaholic who believes he is too busy for a relationship. After an accident with a previous girlfriend, Wyatt has suppressed his dominant urges and opted for a more vanilla lifestyle. Kelsey brings all those desires to the surface again and the explosion is hot! He is sent on a weekend retreat for business and he needs to take a girlfriend along with him. Since Kelsey needs to get out of town for a bit, he decides to take her along with him.
Both Wyatt and Kelsey have been in other books in the series with her sister Brynn from Crash Into You and his brother Jace from Melt Into You, so I was looking forward to reading their story. Although she is submissive at heart, because of her past she has trouble exploring that side of her and has instead done scenes as a domme. Wyatt is the one person that she is able to be herself with and she submits naturally to him.
As I said earlier, there is nothing particularly earth shattering about this book but I read it in one sitting. I really liked both the hero and heroine, and I was rooting for them very early on. Loren writes some steamy sex scenes and Wyatt definitely has a bad boy side despite his serious business side. Even though the ending was predictable, Loren’s writing style is really good and it keeps you wanting to read more.
