Review: Seduction Game by Pamela Clare

Seduction Game is the 7th book in the I-Team series by Pamela Clare, and despite not being sure I would enjoy this one, I really loved it!  The heroine has been in previous books and always left me with a bad taste in my mouth, but I actually really enjoyed her story in the end.

CIA Agent Nick Andris lost his lover in a mission gone wrong.  Since then, he’s been fueled by his quest for revenge against the man who ruined his life.  Intel has advised that a woman may hold the key to finding the man he’s determined to destroy.  Unfortunately for him, it seems that the intel got it wrong.

Holly Elise Bradshaw is an entertainment writer that seems to only care about rich old men and shoes.  After one of her dates goes horribly wrong, she finds herself in danger with no one to turn to – except the man that likely put her in that danger…

Heroines that get by on their looks alone annoy me, and based on what we had previously seen of Holly, I was worried that this was going to be one of those cases.  I was very wrong!  She turned out to be a great heroine and I absolutely loved the book.  There was plenty of action, plot twists and smoking hot sex, and I was able to completely forget my earlier impressions of her.

Nick had been through a lot with his partner being killed, and because of that, I was able to forgive some of his macho moments.  He didn’t cross the line into asshole territory, and the chemistry between these two was jumping off the pages.

If you aren’t aware, Ms. Clare has been battling breast cancer, and when she started writing this book, her mother-in-law died very suddenly throwing her life into chaos.  The book was put on hold while she went through chemotherapy, surgery and radiation and at the end of the book she gives us an overview of her struggle.  The fact that she was able to put out a book this good after everything she had been through is a testament to the amazing writer she is.

Overall this was a great book and I really loved this couple.  The story takes you through every emotion whether it be anger, love or lust and you will definitely enjoy the ride.  This is probably my favorite book of the series to date.
