Review: Fantasy Man by Zena Wynn

I’ve read and have liked quite a few stories by this author including the first 2 stories in her Fantasy Island series. I was skeptical about this because of the trendy content, but I decided to give it a go even at that steep price for 70 or so pages (the last few pages are promos for other stories by the author). The premise that a wife has fantasies isn’t unusual, but what I thought was a good premise – is that the wife wants to try something other than what her husband isn’t willing to provide – well that sounds interesting, because then it’s a battle of wills, right?

I’m letting you know upfront, heed the caution and warnings. I’ll even add another one that I think as a reader had I known, I wouldn’t have bothered reading this – there’s a fight scene where the wife gets ‘coldcocked’. I was really shocked about that.

Janice Allen has known and been married to her husband, Jared, for quite a few years. She’s been reading some romance/BDSM stories and wants to try some of what she’s been reading about. Deciding to take a walk on the wild side, Janice signs up for a fantasy on Fantasy Island but when she gets there, she gets cold feet and decides to cancel. Unfortunately for her, the angry hero doesn’t want to cancel and that’s when things get very interesting.

I didn’t care for the sequence of events in this story. Nothing about it made me like Janice and I felt more for the hero and I thought I would. The plot felt forced and rushed. There’s a scene that bothered me greatly – Janice is tied up and left alone. That shouldn’t happen – EVER! Probably even worse than that is the feeling that I came away with – the hero ended up doing what Janice wanted, not for himself, but for her pleasure only.

Happy Reading Folks!
