Review: Possession by Violetta Rand

possessionReviewed by Jaimie

Possession is the second book in the Sons of Odin series by Violetta Rand. After really enjoying the first book in the series, I was looking forward to reading this one and it didn’t disappoint. There is another badass heroine and a slightly damaged hero but they were great together! The story was fast paced, and we met the main couple in the first book so it was great to see their story.

Tina Bethel is a feisty young attorney who doesn’t have time for a relationship. But just because she doesn’t want commitment doesn’t mean she would turn down some no strings attached sex with the super hot guy she met on a night out on the town with her best friend. Despite pulling out all the stops though, he’s not biting.

Vincent Ramos is part of the Sons of Odin and is a very loyal member. After two failed marriages, he refuses to go down that road again. Despite Tina offering no strings attached, he knows once he has a taste of her, he won’t let her go.

Tina is the best friend of Lily, the heroine from the first book and Vincent was with Lang the night Lily and Lang met. The prologue starts at Lily and Lang’s wedding reception where Tina has a bit too much to drink. She propositions Vincent, but we don’t see what happens.

The story then picks up five months later. Lily and Lang are on a prolonged, delayed honeymoon so Tina is on her own without her BFF. During a night out she is approached by a sleazy client that she had helped get off on a crime a few weeks earlier. Clearly refusing to take no for an answer, he begins following her as she’s heading home. Not wanting to lead him to her house, the only place she can think of to go is the bar that the Sons of Odin owned.

As Tina’s stalker revs up his attempts to get to her, Vincent becomes more and more determined to protect her and eventually he gives in to the rising sexual tension. Once he does – damn it’s hot!! Vincent is a sweet guy, but a total alpha in bed.

While they are dealing with the stalker and their growing relationship, there is also drama going on with the club. One of their members hooked up with a woman from a rival club and that club wants her back. She was abused by her husband and sought refuge with the MC.

Overall I really liked this one. Tina and Vincent are a great couple and have crazy chemistry. The dynamic of the MC is really interesting to read about and adds a great story. Looking forward to the next one!
