Review: Dirty Money by Jessica Clare

After starting with the second book in the series and moving backwards, I found that I enjoyed this one even more than Dirty Scoundrel. Jessica Clare’s new series Roughneck Billionaires centers around brothers who happen to have land that was sitting on top of a lucrative oil well. Overnight they go from scruffy, paycheck to paycheck lives to billionaires. Dirty Money is the first book in the series and tells Boone and Ivy’s story.

Boone Price has worked hard and is now enjoying the privileges that come along with being disgustingly rich and hot. He may come across as having a lot of swagger, but Boone just wants to be accepted. He sets his sites on the wealthy and successful realtor who he imagines will make a perfect trophy wife.

Ivy Smithfield may appear to be a wealthy, independent woman, but the reality is – it’s all a front to help her business. Ivy is far from the rich woman she presents herself as and she constantly worries that her house of cards is going to come crashing down.

Boone may start off wanting the trophy wife, but he quickly realizes that Ivy is the one. While he may have more money than he knows what to do with, Boone and his brothers all still live in the same places they lived when they hit it big. He’s not a super complicated guy and I enjoyed the fact that the story didn’t try to get too busy.

This book had everything I love in a book. A great couple with crazy chemistry that you actually want to see get their HEA, smoking hot sex scenes, and a story that allows me to escape for a little while. I read this in one sitting on the beach and it was worth the sunburn to finish it!
