Review: Collision Point by Lora Leigh

Reviewed by Jaimie

Collision Point is the first book in the Brute Force series by the amazing Lora Leigh and I cannot tell you how excited I was to read this one. This series is a spinoff of sorts from the Elite Ops series and the first book features Nathan/Noah’s brother Rory. I was reallllly hoping we would get his story, but when I realized the series was over I figured that wasn’t going to happen. Luckily I was wrong!

Riordan Malone, or Rory as his family calls him, is now a member of the Brute Force Agency. When we last saw him he was running the garage alongside his sister-in-law, but now that his it has been revealed that his brother isn’t actually dead, Rory needs to branch out. Given a job as a bodyguard, he finds himself quickly involved with the young woman he is protecting. While he’s out of town, she is kidnapped and beaten severely. Rory is gravely injured during the rescue. Six months later, the woman he can’t get out of his mind is on his doorstep. [Read more…]

Review: Dirty Money by Jessica Clare

Reviewed by Jaimie

After starting with the second book in the series and moving backwards, I found that I enjoyed this one even more than Dirty Scoundrel. Jessica Clare’s new series Roughneck Billionaires centers around brothers who happen to have land that was sitting on top of a lucrative oil well. Overnight they go from scruffy, paycheck to paycheck lives to billionaires. Dirty Money is the first book in the series and tells Boone and Ivy’s story.

Boone Price has worked hard and is now enjoying the privileges that come along with being disgustingly rich and hot. He may come across as having a lot of swagger, but Boone just wants to be accepted. He sets his sites on the wealthy and successful realtor who he imagines will make a perfect trophy wife. Review: Dirty Scoundrel by Jessica Clare

Reviewed by Jaimie

As a fan of Jessica Clare I find that I enjoy the “predictable” nature of her books. I like her writing style and the way she draws out her stories, and this one was no exception. Dirty Scoundrel is the second book in the Roughneck Billionaires series and I must admit I read out of order. I picked this one up first and then went back and read the first book because I liked it so much.

Clay Price is a disgustingly rich man who tries to come off as cold-hearted. He may have found success in the business world, but his personal life is not the greatest. After proposing to the love of his life years earlier, and being turned down, Clay threw himself into his business. Now he has the woman who broke his heart years ago right where he wants her. Review: Nauti Angel by Lora Leigh

I don’t know if I’m just overly emotional or what but Lora Leigh had me crying throughout Nauti Angel, the latest installment of her Nauti Girls series. We got a very brief glimpse of the heartache that was going to play out at the end of Nauti Seductress when Angel revealed that she was actually Chaya’s daughter who everyone thought had died at the age of three. It was a long wait but well worth it. Angel is one badass, wounded woman and I instantly loved her. [Read more…]

Review: Take To The Limit By Dawn Ryder

Take To The Limit is the fourth book in the Unbroken Heroes series by Dawn Ryder and once I started it I finished it in one shot. It wasn’t just Bram and Jaelyn that drew me in, we got to see more of their teammates, we got to visit with the couples from the earlier books, and I loved Jaelyn’s grandpa and sister too.

Bram Magnus is a hardcore military man, who has worked with Saxon and his team on a few occasions. When he isn’t officially offered a spot on their team he is set to head to Afghanistan for a six-month deployment. The day before he leaves, he goes to see his quasi-girlfriend LeeAnn but instead he finds her with another guy. He’s not even upset because, in reality, he knew she wasn’t the one. Her sister, on the other hand, is a totally different matter… [Read more…]

Review: Deep Into Trouble by Dawn Ryder

Deep Into Trouble is the third book in the Unbroken Heroes series by Dawn Ryder and this one grabs you from the get-go! Saxon and Ginger were a bit of an odd couple with one being spunky and fun and the other being serious and straight-laced. They worked in so many ways and you couldn’t help but cheer for them!

Ginger Boyce is a librarian who is dying to break out of her shell and live a little. While attending a conference in New Orleans she takes a walk on the wild side, with disastrous results. After witnessing a murder committed by a dangerous and elusive killer, Ginger is in desperate need of protection. Thankfully for her, Saxon’s team is tracking the same man. [Read more…]

Review: Just One Touch by Maya Banks

As someone who is not a big fan of supernatural themed books, I must say that Maya Banks’ Slow Burn series is one of my absolute favorites. Both the hero and the heroine in each book in this series have been great and I always look forward to the next installment. In Just One Touch we get Isaac and Jenna’s story and this one did not disappoint! There were elements of sweetness – like the way Jenna knows nothing about the modern world, hotness, and of course the usual kick ass portion!

Isaac Washington is one of the original DSS members and we met him for the first time in Beau and Ari’s book In His Keeping. Quiet and fierce, his teammates know only that he is fiercely loyal and considers them his family. Outwardly he seems okay with his life revolving around his work only. That all changes one morning when he is walking back to his truck after getting coffee and doughnuts and notices that someone is trying to steal it. Carefully creeping up he pulls his gun and prepares to apprehend some punk who is stealing his ride. What he finds instead, is the most beautiful woman he’s set his eyes on. [Read more…]

Review: Lethal Lies by Rebecca Zanetti

Lethal Lies is the second book in the Blood Brothers series by Rebecca Zanetti and this one was just as good as the first! This series is a spin-off of The Sin Brothers series and so far I have loved every one! The action kicks off right out of the gate with this one and it doesn’t stop throughout. Anya and Heath were a great hero and heroine and the story kept my attention from start until finish. The set-up for Denver’s book has me dying to get my hands on that one as well!! [Read more…]

Review: Intense Pleasure by Lora Leigh

Intense Pleasure is the latest installment in the Bound Hearts series by Lora Leigh and I was waiting for this story! During the last book Secret Pleasure we got to see more of Summer Bartlett (whose real name is Summer Calhoun), who presented herself as a cold agent capable of shooting someone she thought was a friend with no second thoughts. It was clear that there was more to Summer than the world saw so I was really looking forward to reading her book. There were a few slow moments throughout but overall this was a great addition to the Bound Hearts series.

Review: Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy

So many of my favorite series are wrapping up and reading this one made me so sad! Midnight Target by Elle Kennedy is the last book in her Killer Instinct series and involved two couples I’ve been dying to read. We FINALLY got our Liam and Sully story and we also got Cate and Ash’s story to end the series with a bang. I am so sad to see this one end, but Ms. Kennedy ended it with perfection. [Read more…]
