Review: Only Pleasure Part 3 by Lora Leigh

Lora Leigh doesn’t waste any time getting into the action for Part 3 of Only Pleasure. When Kia returns home, much to Chase’s dismay, they find that her apartment has been vandalized and all of her belongings trashed. The words Die Bitch and Whore are spray painted on her walls, and she is left terrified and confused. Chase believes immediately that it is Kia’s ex-husband behind the attacks, but she does not agree.

Knowing she cannot stay in her trashed apartment, Kia returns to Chase’s where he can keep a close eye on her. Although badly shaken by what has happened, Kia is determined to go to work and carry on with her life. I really admired her strength during all of these attacks. Most of all, she is scared for Chase’s safety and it is that simple act that seems to break through his defenses. He decides to wait until they figure out who is after her before he finally tells her he loves her. But at least he has admitted it to himself. [Read more…]

Part two of Only Pleasure by Lora Leigh begins with Kia questioning whether she can continue having a “pleasure only” relationship with Chase, while she is also beginning to tire of having Khalid present every time they are together. We also start to see glimpses of who Khalid’s heroine is, setting up for his future story.

Chase Falladay is continuing to deny that he is in love with Kia Rutherford and his brother is becoming increasingly concerned about him. Cameron knows that Chase is holding himself away from Kia because of Moriah and he feels a sense of guilt over that. [Read more…]

Review: Only Pleasure Part 1 by Lora Leigh

Only Pleasure is the 10th book in the Bound Hearts series by Lora Leigh, and was reissued in three parts like Wicked Pleasure was earlier this year. Only Pleasure picks up six months after Chase was forced to kill Moriah Brockheim to protect his twin brother and his fiancé Jaci. The book starts off with the Epilogue which happens two years earlier. Chase, in his position as a protector for Ian Sinclair’s club, is forced to meet with Kia, the woman who fascinates him like no other and ask her to humiliate herself. After Kia’s husband assaulted her and tried to rape her, she confided in a friend about the exclusive club and that rumor was spreading fast. Chase cannot allow him that to happen, but he vows to do everything he can to protect her.

Chase Falladay is drowning in overwhelming guilt. He blames himself for not being aware that his brother Cameron was being pimped out by their evil aunt, and he knows that Cameron said nothing to protect him. Adding to that guilt, he considered Moriah a friend and he didn’t have any idea that she had been plotting his brother’s downfall. When he and Khalid see Kia in a bar alone one night he loses the fight to stay away from her, and he convinces himself that he can keep it strictly about the pleasure. [Read more…]

Review: Wicked Pleasure Part 3 by Lora Leigh

Oh man I just want to give everyone in this story a hug. Wicked Pleasure Part 3 is an emotional roller coaster and as predicted, it was a total tearjerker. Cam, Jaci and Chase all went through the wringer and it was heart wrenching.

Cam is driving Jaci nuts. One minute he’s crushing her heart when he won’t sleep with her and the next he’s showing her a side of him that no one else gets to see. His walls are coming down and they are making slow but sure progress. [Read more…]

After the way Wicked Pleasure Part 1 ended, I couldn’t wait to get right into part 2 and Lora Leigh did not disappoint. We start learning more about what happened to Cameron Falladay when he was a teenager that made him the way he is, and man it is heartbreaking. I can tell when we get the full reveal it is going to be a tearjerker. If you haven’t already read my review of Part 1 be sure to go and check it out. [Read more…]

Review: Wicked Pleasure Part 1 by Lora Leigh

Wicked Pleasure: Part 1 is the first of three parts. The story is part of Lora Leigh’s Bound Hearts series and was previously released as one book. I love this series so I was looking forward to reading this one, and it had everything that makes Ms. Leigh’s books so great.

Jaci Wright has loved Cameron Falladay since she was too young to really know what love is. After tempting and teasing him for years, he finally takes her home prepared to follow through. There’s only one problem – he won’t take her unless his brother is there too. Not realizing she’s a virgin and that she doesn’t really understand what he intended, she runs when she figures it out. Her heart in pieces, she leaves town. [Read more…]

Review: Victorious by M.S. Force

I’m probably the only person who didn’t like this story. I’m a ginormous fan of this author’s romance novels. I think her Green Mountain series is absolutely brilliant and I’ve have had nothing but praise for it. I read the first two books in her new Quantum Trilogy series and was suitably impressed with those, because the story telling was good and the sex wasn’t overpowering. As this is a serial, each book picks up immediately where the other left off. At the end of book two’s review, I put something out there that I wish didn’t happen – ‘I’m going to be sorely disappointed, scratch that – make it pissed off, if Natalie gives in to Flynn’s BDSM lifestyle desires like a bowling pin’. Guess what happened. [Read more…]

Review: Virtuous by M.S. Force

The beginning of Marie Force writing as M.S. Force surprised the you-know-what out of me. I wasn’t surprised by the writing skills of Force, which I’m a fan of, but that she’s delving into the ever-popular BDSM category. I held on to this story for a couple weeks before I started it. I dang near got on my knees and prayed that Force wouldn’t fall in the erotica trap where it’s more prevalent to get to the sex than it is for the story line to make sense and the characters to stay true to themselves. Fair warning, this is a serial and the books continue one to the other. If you read this story, you should expect to have a cliffhanger. [Read more…]

Review: Inner Demon by Jocelynn Drake

I will never understand for the life of me why an author would choose to end a series this way. Generally, I am not a big fan of serials, but I am a fan of Jocelynn Drake. I have enjoyed her Asylum Tales books (and the Dark Days series before that.) I was actually excited to see what she would do to resolve Gage’s issues, so serial or not, I knew I would be reading.

It’s actually a good thing that this story was released in sections, because that allowed me to tell you how much I enjoyed the beginning and was captivated through the middle. Only to be so thoroughly disappointed at the end. [Read more…]

Review: Demon’s Vow by Jocelynn Drake

demon's vowReviewed by Jen

Jocelynn Drake really ramps things up in this second installment in her three part serial finale of the Asylum Tales. Before you pick this one up, make sure you have read “Demon’s Fury” first, because we jump right back into the action on page one.

Here, we follow Gage as he returns to the Ivory Tower where he spent nine years of his life, training as a warlock.  Inside, the danger jumps to a whole new level.  It’s tied in with the dark power that protects Gage’s basement and Lilith. It’s very cool.  On top of that, Gage and Gideon finally face off and throw down, which I absolutely loved watching. The serial killer stalking the pregnant woman is still going strong, too.  Gage is essentially running on fumes. [Read more…]
