This is the second book in Carly Phillips’ Dare series about the dysfunctional Dare family of siblings connected by a father who chose to have a secret family.  With all the secrets finally out of the closet, the adults are trying to figure out how they fit in each other’s lives.  Each is a stand alone story, but I found it helpful to read the previous book to get a handle on the Dare family dynamics. Perfect Together is the third book in the Serendipity’s Finest series by Carly Phillips.  In Perfect Fling we were introduced to Nicole Farnsworth, the identical twin of the woman who was stalking and trying to kill Erin Marsden.  In a case of mistaken identity, Nicole is arrested and the sparks fly between her and police officer Sam Marsden.  Fast forward a few months and Nicole has broken off her engagement and relocates to Serendipity for a fresh start. Review: Dare to Love by Carly Phillips

This is the first in a new contemporary series by Carly Phillips, which features the Dare family.  Phillips is a new author for me but has a large following, so I plunged in without reading any other reviews.  I think, for most, this book will find readers on one side or another.

Ian Dare is an admitted control-freak and has been ever since he was required to step up for his mom and siblings after his father left them in the lurch for the other woman and kids he had on the side.  After all these years, Ian never forgiven his father nor accepted his half siblings.  Yet, it’s because of his love for his sisters, that he finds himself at a party for his father where he runs into the woman of his dreams, who just so happens to be on the arm of his half-brother, Alex. I had the pleasure of interviewing best selling author Carly Phillips about her new book Perfect Fling, her Serendipity series and her writing.  Perfect Fling was my first experience with Carly’s books and I was very excited to talk to her.  Enjoy!

Jaimie:  Hi Carly, thank you for taking time out of your schedule to do this interview.  First I just want to say I really enjoyed Perfect Fling.   This is my first time reading one of your books and I’ve added the rest of the Serendipity books to my TBR pile!

Carly:  Thank you! I’m thrilled to be here and I’m so glad you enjoyed PERFECT FLING and are onto the others.

Jaimie:  Did the inspiration for the town of Serendipity come from a place you know or is it purely fictional? [Read more…]

Assistant District Attorney Erin Marsden has always lived her life on the straight and narrow. She is known around town as the ultimate good girl and she is okay with that because she never wanted to disappoint her family. After her brother’s wedding, a lonely Erin heads to the local bar to drown her sorrows and runs into Cole Sanders, the resident bad boy of Serendipity. A few drinks later, Cole and Erin are heading back to his apartment for the best sex of her life.

After dropping out of the police academy, many people suspected Cole was into illegal stuff like drugs or organized crime, including his own father. It turns out they were right, but not in the way they thought. He is actually an undercover officer who is just returning from a case that took a year of being deep undercover, and left him with some emotional scars. Erin sees the good in him behind the shadows in his eyes, but the morning after their passionate night together, he tells her he doesn’t like long drawn out morning afters. Erin gathers up her pride and leaves. [Read more…]
