This is book 2 in Jamie Beck’s Sterling Canyon series about life in a ski town around the Denver, CO area. I didn’t read book 1, but I didn’t feel as if I missed anything. I’m not a fan of this kind of heroine; actually I’m not a fan of this kind of person.
Thirty year old Kelsey Callihan wants nothing more than to be married with children, which is more than fine by me, but what I don’t like is the manipulation to get what she wants. She literally talked herself into her love of Trip. When one of her good friends, Emma, asked what she loved about him, this is Kelsey ‘He’s sexy and surprisingly sweet, strong and willful, fun and sentimental, even if he doesn’t see it’. If sexy is the first thought much less word out of your mouth, what happens when his looks fade? Yeah, I know it takes two to tango, but her thoughts are revealed to the reader, so I know where she’s going and I know what she wants, and I see her just being someone I can’t stand. [Read more…]
