Review: Enemy Red by Marie Harte

If you are looking for some sexy shifter action, this may be the novella for you. If you’re interested in, say, a well developed story, good pacing, character development, or romance, you may want to move along. You won’t find them here. I understand that you can only expect certain things from a novella, but there were so many problems for me. [Read more…]

Review: What To Do With A Bad Boy by Marie Harte

what to do with a bad boyReviewed by Shelly

I know exactly what I wanted to do with that bad boy. This is Marie Harte’s 4th story in the McCauley Brothers series and tells the story of the oldest brother, Mike. After reading about all the other brothers, Mike was the last brother, whose story seemed like it would be the most interesting as he’s a widower with a 6 year old son to raise. I’m a sucker for sappy stories and this one seemed promising, but what I didn’t expect would be that unrelenting comparison of Mike’s deceased wife and Delilah. I normally wouldn’t have a problem with a little bit of angst but between all the other things that pissed me off about this storyline and that – I. JUST. COULDN’T. [Read more…]

Review: Ruining Mr. Perfect by Marie Harte

Can two pretty people actually see past their aesthetically perfect bodies to get to the heart of each other? The 3rd book in the McCauley Brothers series is about the pretty brother, Cameron, and the pretty roommate, Vanessa Campbell. I was really looking forward to this story. Both Cameron and Vanessa were interesting enough characters in the other installments and, of course, like a train wreck I wanted to see how the relationship between these two would play out without the mention their gym perfect bodies. Once I got past the fact that this story was going to be about 2 blue-eyed perfect beauties, I started to enjoy the story for what it was. [Read more…]

Review: How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte

how to handle a heartbreakerReviewed by Shelly

The second story in Marie Harte’s McCauley Brothers series tells the story of Brody Singer – the ‘twin’ brother to Flynn McCauley (The Troublemaker Next Door – Book 1). Brody is the blond in the family. He was raised in the McCauley household since he was a youngster and became part of the family. He and Flynn have a plumbing business and do well enough as young entrants into the market. Having met Abby Dunn months ago after she and her roommates – Maddie (Flynn’s love interest in Book 1) and Vanessa – moved into his parents’ rental property, Brody has been lusting after and flirting with Abby ever since. Abby is a writer of ‘sexy’ books with a ‘regular’ side job as a web designer. She’s had a thing for Brody ever since purposefully eavesdropping (part of research of course) on him and his brothers – Flynn, Mike, and Cameron – during their weekly poker night conversations. Review: The Troublemaker Next Door by Marie Harte

troublemaker next doorReviewed by Shelly

This is my first book by Marie Harte and I enjoyed it enough that it won’t be my last. Book 1 in the McCauley Brothers series, this installment does a fine job of introducing the brothers including Brody Singer (long story, tell ya later). Sent by his big brother, Mike, to fix the kitchen sink leak in their parents’ rental, Flynn McCauley of the Clan McCauley goes to where cousins Maddie and Vanessa and their friend Abby are living. Maddie is having a humdinger of a terrible day, having just quit her job. Unfortunately for Flynn, he’s going to meet Maddie while she’s on a man-hating tear. These two have a rough start of it. Can they accept each other enough to make a new start? [Read more…]
