Review: Zip, Zero, Zilch by Tammy Falkner

zip zero zilchReviewed by Joanna

This is the sixth in the Reed Brothers series and the last I’m reading. It’s Sam’s turn to get tossed in love. He’s the last of the five brothers to fall and he’s probably the one I felt least connection with from the previous books. Sam’s a pro-football player earning a fortune for a NY team, though he’d actually much rather be baking. Cos that happens.

As all his brothers are settled and have, like, a million kids between them, Sam realizes he wants the same thing. He wants someone to snuggle with and to take home to his big empty apartment. He wants marriage and children of his own, and he knows just the girl for the role. [Read more…]

Review: Proving Paul’s Promise by Tammy Falkner

proving pauls promiseReviewed by Joanna

I really meant to stop reading this series for a while cos it got a bit same-y. Well, that didn’t happen. There were just two brothers to go, so I went straight for book five and big, tall Paul.

Paul’s the eldest of the Reed brothers and the guy who had to pick up the slack when their dad walked out after their mother died. I’m a sucker for a guy who has to stand up and be a man, and Paul gave up so much to raise his four brothers. He’s also been crazy about Friday, the tattoo shop receptionist and artist for the four years she’s worked for him. [Read more…]

Review: Maybe Matt’s Miracle by Tammy Falkner

maybe matts miracleReviewed by Joanna

Now I’m on the fourth in the Reed Brothers series, and Matt’s the brother in the frame. Matt had cancer but survived it, thanks to a special chemical trial his sister in law Emily’s family paid for. He’s been in remission for two years now, but sadly a friend of his who was also on the trial didn’t make it.

Kendra died leaving her three kids in the hands of her half-sister who she doesn’t even know. Skylar is a newly qualified attorney who now has to play mother to a sixteen year old boy and two little girls who don’t know her from Adam. Luckily, Matt’s on the scene and already has a bond with the teenager and can help her out. [Read more…]

Review: Calmly, Carefully, Completely by Tammy Falkner

calmly carefully completelyReviewed by Joanna

Book three in the Reed Brothers series and we’re with the youngest brother, Pete, as he gets out of jail. He’s done two years for a non-violent crime and has paid his dues. See, he and his twin Sam were doing jobs for Bone, the local dodgy man, to make money to pay for their brother Matt’s cancer treatment. Sam got away when the police busted them, Pete didn’t.

On release day, Pete’s offered a sweet probation deal by his pro bono attorney if he spends a week at a camp for kids with various disabilities. With his sign language skills learned to talk to Logan, another of his four hot brothers, he’ll be an asset to the camp. [Read more…]

Review: Smart, Sexy and Secretive by Tammy Falkner

Portrait of passionate young couple romancing over white backgroundReviewed by Joanna

Emily’s back in town. At the end of book one in this series, she gave up Logan and returned to California and her daughter-of-a-billionaire lifestyle in exchange for her dad paying for Matt’s cancer treatment. But now she’s persuaded her father to let her return to NYC to study music. With a side of being with Logan too, thanks.

Due to his deafness and her dyslexia, they’ve not been in contact since she left, though each knew they would reunite and there’s no messing with other people which pleased me lots. We see this happy couple get back together and it’s oh so sweet. [Read more…]

Review: Tall, Tatted and Tempting by Tammy Falkner

Portrait of passionate young couple romancing over white backgroundReviewed by Joanna

Kit is 19 and homeless after running away from her privileged but prison-like home life. She busks for a living and one day goes into a tattoo parlor to spend some of her hard earned money on a tattoo (priorities, right? But then story) and is directed to Logan.

Logan sees this dark-haired beauty and assumes she’s after one thing – he’s deaf and women come to him for no string sex. Mainly cos he’s great in bed, very good looking and they don’t have to talk to him after. Poor guy, must be awful for him. [Read more…]
